  • Peter Bosy, MFA

Peter Bosy brings his people skills to photography by putting his subjects at ease to capture the “real” person. As a seasoned portrait and commercial photographer with a studio in a suburb of Chicago, he enjoys the uniqueness of each project. The creative process unfolds with each person’s own personality.

His artistic journey led to a bachelor’s degree in Photography and Design from the University of Illinois at Chicago after moving from fine art drawing and painting to photography. After some years of leading a commercial photo studio serving a variety of business clients, he developed a special lighting style for abstract works that informed his Master of Art and later Master of Fine Art degrees. Some of these works have been featured in a New York City gallery and other national exhibits.

In addition to owning Peter Bosy Photography, Inc., Peter has taught film and digital photography classes, including studio lighting, at Chicago area colleges

I was excited to be selected as the photographer of the Black Lives Matter exhibit after talking with Aisha Scott. This photo exhibit is a great way to focus on local people whose passion for justice can get overlooked when attention is on the national scene. Through this exhibit, our community will see and meet some who “acted locally while thinking globally”.

My intention for these works was to capture the spirit and passion of these community residents. They were moved to take the time to act peacefully yet to be present and to raise awareness of and support for social justice. Each person brought special energy and commitment that I believe were captured in their portrait.

Her art embodies the inherent abstract characteristics in which an interplay of shapes, sizes, colors, and rhythms express her ideas and feelings. Additionally, her keen sensitivity to the natural world enlivens her art with a profound experience for the viewers.

I’m super eager to be selected to display my art for the Black Lives Matter movement.

Her research investigates and develops methods evaluators use to define and examine success for the programs and activities they evaluate. I support this project because Black lives matter. I believe that cultivating a free, fair, and just future for our children requires taking action toward ending white supremacy and anti-Black racism.
